First Supervision Session
Deciding Your Next Steps After The First Session
There is no obligation to continue. At the end of the session, you can decide whether you’d like to book further appointments, or take some time to reflect. I encourage clients to choose what feels right for them.
What to expect?
Beginning supervision is an important step in supporting both your professional development and your clients, so it’s natural to feel curious about what the first session will involve. My aim is to offer a calm, collaborative space where you can get a sense of how I work and whether the supervisory relationship feels like a good fit for you.
Understanding Your Practice
We start by exploring what has brought you to supervision at this stage and your training level or experience, the nature of your client work, and the kind of support you’re looking for. You may come with specific areas you want to focus on, or simply a sense that you’d benefit from reflective space; either is absolutely fine, and we shape the work together.
Explaining How Supervision Works
I’ll talk you through the practicalities of the supervision process:
• Session length (50 minutes)
• Frequency of meetings
• Fees and payment
• Online, face-to-face and group options
• How we approach ethical, relational and developmental themes
This ensures you have a clear understanding of what to expect moving forward and feel supported as we begin working together.
