FAQs
-
In your first session, we’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, your goals, and how we might work together. It’s a chance to ask questions and see if the approach feels right for you.
-
During your first supervision session, we’ll explore your needs, client load, and where you are in your training or professional journey. This helps make sure supervision is tailored to your development as a reflective, relational practitioner.
-
Counselling focuses on what’s happening for you now, offering support with current difficulties such as stress, anxiety or life changes, while psychotherapy goes deeper, exploring long-standing emotional patterns and past experiences that continue to influence how you feel and relate to others.
-
The number of sessions depends on your personal goals and the issues you want to work on. Some clients find just a few sessions helpful, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. We’ll discuss a plan that works for you during your first session.

Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential, within professional and ethical boundaries. Exceptions only occur if there is a legal or ethical obligation, such as risk or harm to yourself or others.
-
You’re always free to pause or end therapy whenever you choose. At the same time, having some space to focus on the ending can be really helpful. We’d usually set aside about two weeks to reflect, wrap up, and support a smooth transition.
In longer-term therapy, the ending period would be discussed and shaped around what feels right for your unique situation. Many people find that this part of the process can be an important piece of their overall growth.
